Pie on a Division counter, the kind of case that still opens Monday when weekend pie shops go dark.

Labor Day Monday pie: Plan B when Bakeshop is closed

Bakeshop’s Labor Day pie window was Saturday and Sunday. If you still need whole pie or a slice on Monday, start on Division.

If you waited until Labor Day Monday to pick up a Bakeshop Labor Day pie, that window is already closed. Bakeshop’s walk-in days are Wednesday through Sunday, Monday is closed all day on their own site, and the Labor Day pie pickup they printed was Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th — not a Monday cart, and not something we can reopen from here. We do not take the order on PortlandBread; the shop’s own door is the only checkout that matters.

The Plan B that still prints Monday hours is Lauretta Jean’s on Division. Their site shows Monday 11am to 9pm, with whole pies available from the case most days and slices every day but Tuesday, which means Monday is a real pie errand if you get there while the case still looks like itself. Salted honey is the reason a lot of people join that line, but the board rotates, so read what is actually out rather than driving across town for a flavor we invent. Call ahead if you need a specific whole pie — they say they can usually handle that the day before — and leave slices as a walk-up.

If you need the kitchen to be gluten-free and vegan, Petunia’s downtown is the backup on this map: daily 9am to 4pm on their own site, with no Labor Day closure found, and pie slices on the bakery menu when they are out. Whole cakes and bigger orders are often an advance conversation there, so do not treat it like a last-minute Bakeshop substitute for a named Labor Day pie. Baker & Spice is also closed Monday on their Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule, so that is not a Plan B either.

Go to Lauretta first if pie is the errand. Use Petunia’s if the dietary constraint is the point. Skip Bakeshop on Monday, and if what you needed was a loaf or a doughnut instead of pie, the Labor Day open-and-closed note is the other half of this map.
