Kyra's: dedicated gluten-free in Lake Oswego
Kyra Johnson's bakery is celiac-safe, not a vegan shop. File it in Lake Oswego. Vegan only where they label it.

We have been using Kyra’s Bake Shop as a gluten-free landmark, and we FINALLY went back with a vegan assignment instead of pretending the whole pastry case was plant-based! Founder Kyra Johnson built this as a dedicated gluten-free bakery café after a health diagnosis and a city full of GF dessert that felt like compromise. She is a Le Cordon Bleu graduate. The shop is a celiac-safe facility. No gluten enters the doors. THAT is the bakery. Vegan is a labeled slice of it.
HERE is what we are allowed to call vegan, because the product pages themselves say so. The vegan Danish — flaky pastry, plant-based ingredients, the official twist on a classic. Vegan German Chocolate Cupcakes: vegan chocolate fudge cake, coconut pecan caramel, chocolate coconut caramel mousse. On the whole-pie page: Vegan Apple Cranberry Crumb (they also write Vegan Cranberry Apple Crumb) and Vegan Triple Berry. The FAQ adds that danishes and hand pies are vegan, that there is always at least one vegan cupcake on the weekly menu, and that savory can include vegan biscuits and gravy. Wedding cake flavors they print as vegan: vegan chocolate fudge, vegan gingerbread, vegan pumpkin, by request.
HERE is what we will not call vegan, even if someone at the next table does. Dairy-free pumpkin pie is dairy-free. Honey pecan pie has honey. Caramel apple and chocolate peppermint mousse are not labeled vegan. Muffins and doughnuts are dairy-free on the FAQ, which is NOT the same sentence as vegan. Custom orders offer dairy-free AND vegan options. Those are two lists.
Pickup is at the flagship location in Lake Oswego. That is the official city. We are not publishing a street, because the official pages we opened do not print one, and the hours widget is still showing a Square placeholder in San Francisco. Hours conflict on those same official pages: a custom block says Monday through Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday closed, the policy text says they are open seven days a week, and the dummy Square hours disagree again. We treat hours as unknown and we treat pickup-by-3 p.m. as the one consistent policy line. Email is info@kyrasbakeshop.com. Custom pastry wants at least four days. Wedding tastings are four custom samples for $60.
We keep coming back because a celiac-safe bakery that will also sell you a labeled vegan Danish is useful, and a directory that vegan-labels the honey pecan is a liar. Take the vegan Danish. Take the vegan German chocolate cupcake if the weekly board still has it. Take the vegan pie if you are feeding a table. Then get out before you tell your group chat Kyra’s is a vegan bakery in a building it is NOT!
